No Technology

I wake up every day at six o’clock to run three miles for cross-country practice. Due to this event, I decided to wake up at six o’clock and watch the sunrise. I found a chair to sit on and waited impatiently for the sun to rise. I made sure to get my sweater because it was cold early in the morning. As I was waiting, I heard the sound of trucks. I realized that some people are driving trucks during the night, while we are peacefully sleeping. I began to stare at the stars and try to find a pattern. I ended up finding a few constellations. Finally, the sun came up. At this time, there were no clouds and the sky could not be any clearer. As the sun came up, the color of the sky began to shift from black to blue. Eventually, the color of the sky was a blend between orange and pink. It was amazing to see the color of the sky change because we are used to seeing it blue or black. Also, the birds began to chirp signaling the start of a new day.

Almost everyone does not realize the events that occur while we sleep. People work all night long in order to obtain money to take care of their family. We wake up every morning, go to school, return home, and repeat the cycle almost every day. By waking up in the morning, people can realize many wonders. Astronomers use technology to determine patterns in the sky. I sat there with nothing to do and began to make my own patterns, which was pretty exciting. The greatest part of watching nature was looking at the sun. The sun helps sustain all life on Earth. During the day, we cannot look at the sun for more than two seconds. Due to this event, we do not see the wonder of looking at the sun. However, when a person sees the sunrise, they know that it is an amazing wonder.

  1. The protagonist of the novel The Spectacular Now once said, "You're in on a secret that all the dull, sleeping people don't know about. Unlike them, you're alert and aware of existing right here in this precise moment between what happened and what's going to happen". This quote was brought to mind upon reading your blog post. I commend your observation of the "cycle". While your writing was entertaining, you would be better off elaborating on certain descriptions of your feelings. Your second paragraph also was not as entertaining as the first.
